bahamian Potcake Puppy Freedom Flight Funds Needed!

Help us get these 5, potcake puppies (and any others we find in the bahamian bush from now until July 30th, 2024) safely to FL from the bahamas!

POTCAKE FREEDOM FLIGHT PUPDATE - we are holding on accepting any more donations at the moment as we have found two separate flights for half the puppies under 6 months to get them to the states prior to the 1st, and another flight heading over on August 7th so we can help some potcakes in need here in Abaco! Starting August 1st, 2024, the CDC will enforce a new regulation prohibiting the entry of dogs under 6 months old into the United States, without a specified end date.

This poses a significant challenge for countries like the Bahamas, where opportunities for local adoptions are rare. Puppies under 6 months old face a high risk of contracting heartworm if not treated promptly, a condition that can be fatal if left untreated. The cost of imported heartworm prevention and treatment, along with ongoing care expenses such as vaccines and flea/tick prevention, often exceeds what many residents can afford, compounded by rising dog food prices. As a result, international adoption to the United States often represents the best chance for these puppies to find healthy, loving homes.

Fortunately, we have partnered with a rescue organization in South Florida that has agreed to take in the five puppies currently scheduled for transport, as well as any others we may identify in the coming weeks.

We urgently need to raise funds to cover the costs of their journey to the United States, via a charter flight who can ensure safe passage and space on the plane to Florida. Your support is crucial in helping us achieve this goal.
