Owner Surrender / found stray
NOTE: Please fill out the form ONLY if you can keep the dog for at least a few days while we assess whether the animal meets our organization’s criteria / can find a suitable foster. For immediate placement, please contact a rescue with a brick-and-mortar facility.
*Please DO NOT post your pet on craigslist or other resources that aren’t part of your local rescue community. Many cruel and heinous things may happen to them. If we are unable to welcome your pet into our foundation, we can help provide you with verified and safe resources. We suggest checking out Adopt A Pet’s Re-home program. Link to the program can be found here.
Filling out our owner surrender/found stray form does not guarantee that we can take the dog; it simply helps our team get to know them. If we are able to take the dog, additional forms will be required to legally transfer the dog to our care.
Please note: You must live in the greater Los Angeles area to foster with the HIT Living Foundation as it's imperative that our foster dogs and families are close to our vets and team. For more information on fostering, read our Foster FAQ page. Once our team has reviewed your application, one of our dedicated foster coordinators will reach out to discuss next steps and finding your foster dog.
We’re so grateful for the amount of support our community has shown us and appreciate your patience as our team of volunteers review applications.
If you have the resources to donate, we would gratefully appreciate it - every dollar helps us save and provide for dogs in need!
